Heres some process shots of a portrait I just did. The first one is a very quick gesture of the face that I did in about 1 or 2 minutes. It helps me start off with a lot of energy that I try and preserve till the end of the painting. After that I continue to block in tones and shapes until it looks right.
Here's some process shots of an oil study I did in a workshop yesterday. Its pretty straight forward. I basically just keep blocking in from start to finish until it looks right.
Here are a few paintings ive done in the past week here at art center. Ive been trying to combine a love for exaggeration with painting, and I think you will see that in some of these paintings. The goal is to scare my portraiture teacher... I think I can still go more grotesque though.
